Dancing is a performing art of present appreciation, where dancers present the different issues or concepts of performance through professionally trained physical conditions/use.
Even the same dance motion will make slight change to the spatial atmosphere at the scene. The delicate change of the physical conditions in dancers and the interacting tie of each detail of creativity affect the flow of theater, bringing exceptional inspiration to the dance performance. When we dismantle the English word, “choreography” and look up the meaning, redefine and image: “chore” is a frequent work that is boring but requires routine completion, particularly referring to household chores while “-graphy” indicates the art of writing and portraying. These
two words are linked together to form “Choreography,” which transforms the daily physical behaviors in extension to the portraying dance of the thinking process. The techniques of dancing and physical motions are materials of creation and the direction which choreographer focus and gaze upon – the crux of ideas and concepts is the nature and characteristics that form arts.
Choreographers project to the different living styles of people from their own perspective when implementing the concepts of creation with their bodies through
contemporary dance today, where more attention is drawn to the various phenomena of daily conditions.

These repeating jobs and various behaviors of life which we are accustomed to are re-observed and given new thinking perspective by the choreographers. For this reason, choreographers introduce the constant and repeated development of body in routines in the choreography process, presenting the interpretations and performance of interactions between time, space and ideas in the abstract body image.
“Choreographer's Gaze - Daily Portrait of the Body” invites several artists from different fields to start from daily observation and face with the five gazing possibilities of body in choreography: Thinking Body ─Wen-jinn Luo, Projective Body ─ Zhi-Ming Xu, Echoing Body ─ Ming-tse Chen, Fiber Body─ Chi-Ting Ceng, Photographic Body─ Ren-Haur Liu and Hao-Chiang Chien. In this daily portrait of choreography program that starts with body, artists of different fields will take viewers to look into the gazing of
choreography, from the presentation of static photography to the visual and audio device interacting with the body, as well as the behavioral performance that appeared and hid by dancers in specific time.

Viewers seem to have come to the inner ideas and imaginary space of choreography creation, where one can silently watch the presentation of visual aesthetics between photography and spatial installations, or wander in different exhibition zones to perceive the artistic atmosphere brought by the special space shaped under the gazing of artists in different fields. Alternatively, viewers may bring out varying postures of body movement while visiting the exhibition through the interactive design with the artworks to further perceive the body image brought by the foundation of motion development in contemporary dance creation in addition to draw forth daily observations into choreography with artistic concepts and experience of creation.
